Abril inicia con una exposición que desplaza la pintura hacia sus bordes, mientras en paralelo nuestros artistas activan distintos espacios institucionales del país donde se abre una conversación alrededor de la materia, la rabia y el territorio. Este es un recorrido por lo que está ocurriendo —y por lo que empieza a tomar forma.
April opens with an exhibition that pushes painting to its edges, while in parallel our artists activate different institutional spaces across the country, opening a conversation around matter, rage, and territory. This is a journey through what is happening—and what is beginning to take shape.

Hay algo en la pintura que casi siempre se oculta: lo que sobra, lo que cae, lo que se corta, lo que no entra.
En su más reciente exposición, que inaugura el próximo 9 de abril, Verónica Lehner trabaja desde ahí.
El residuo deja de ser resto para convertirse en estructura. Bordes de tela, fragmentos y decisiones aparentemente secundarias toman el espacio y lo reorganizan. La pintura ya no se contiene; se expande, se pliega, se derrama hacia la arquitectura, alterando la forma en la que el cuerpo recorre el espacio. Lo que antes enmarcaba, ahora ocupa. Lo que parecía accidente, ahora decide.

There is something in painting that is almost always concealed: what remains, what falls away, what is cut off, what does not quite fit.
In her most recent exhibition, opening on April 9, Verónica Lehner works precisely from that place.
The residue ceases to be leftover and becomes structure. Edges of canvas, fragments, and seemingly secondary decisions take over the space and reorganize it. Painting no longer contains itself; it expands, folds, and spills into the architecture, altering the way the body moves through space. What once framed now occupies. What once seemed accidental now determines.

¿Acaso la ira no es noble, cuando la sociedad es corrupta y brutal?
Hay fuerzas que no se contienen sino que atraviesan, tensan y empujan.
Esta exposición colectiva toma la rabia como punto de partida, no como ruptura, sino como motor. Una energía que no destruye sino que produce imágenes, gestos y formas de decir lo que no encuentra lugar en otros lenguajes.
A partir de obras de la colección del Banco de la República, el recorrido se despliega entre lo íntimo y lo colectivo, entre el trazo contenido y la explosión pública. La rabia aparece en la superficie, pero también en lo que la sostiene: en la insistencia, en la incomodidad, en la necesidad de responder.
Más que representar el conflicto, la muestra se sitúa en el lugar de la respuesta.
En lo que se activa cuando algo ya no puede permanecer igual.

Can anger be noble, when society itself is corrupt and brutal?
Some forces do not contain themselves—they cut across, stretch, and push.
This group exhibition takes rage as its point of departure, not as rupture but as a driving force. An energy that does not destroy but produces images, gestures, and ways of articulating what cannot find space in other languages.
Drawing from works in the collection of the Banco de la República, the exhibition unfolds between the intimate and the collective, between restrained mark-making and public eruption. Rage appears on the surface, but also in what sustains it: persistence, discomfort, and the urgency to respond.
Rather than representing conflict, the exhibition situates itself in the space of response—in what is activated when things can no longer remain the same.

Nos habitan pájaros y montañas
El cuerpo no como límite, sino como territorio.
Esta exposición propone una lectura en la que las fronteras se disuelven: el paisaje se vuelve cuerpo, el cuerpo se abre como espacio atravesado por memoria, historia y tensión. En diálogo con la obra de Débora Arango, las piezas construyen una narrativa donde lo natural, lo político y lo íntimo coexisten sin jerarquías claras.
Hay algo que insiste en estas obras: la idea de que habitamos múltiples capas al mismo tiempo. Que el cuerpo no es uno, ni estable, ni cerrado.
Y que, tal vez, entenderlo así es también una forma de resistencia.

The body not as a boundary, but as territory.
This exhibition proposes a reading in which borders dissolve: landscape becomes body, and the body opens as a space traversed by memory, history, and tension. In dialogue with the work of Débora Arango, the pieces construct a narrative where the natural, the political, and the intimate coexist without clear hierarchies.
There is something that insists throughout these works: the idea that we inhabit multiple layers at once. That the body is neither singular, nor stable, nor closed.
And that, perhaps, understanding it this way is also a form of resistance.

Durante unos días, Bogotá cambia de ritmo.
Los espacios se activan al mismo tiempo y lo que normalmente ocurre por separado empieza a dialogar: galerías, talleres, instituciones y publicaciones. No se trata solo de ver exposiciones, sino de recorrer, de entrar, de dejar que una puerta lleve a otra.
ARTBO Fin de Semana propone justamente eso: una experiencia fragmentada, abierta, donde cada quien arma su propio trayecto. Entre circuitos, encuentros editoriales y conversaciones, lo que aparece es una red momentánea que transforma la manera de moverse por Bogotá.
Más que un evento, es una invitación a perder el recorrido habitual.

For a few days, Bogotá shifts its rhythm.
Spaces activate simultaneously, and what usually unfolds separately begins to intersect: galleries, studios, institutions, and publications. It is not only about seeing exhibitions, but about moving through them—allowing one door to lead to another.
ARTBO Fin de Semana proposes precisely this: a fragmented, open-ended experience where each visitor builds their own path. Across circuits, editorial encounters, and conversations, what emerges is a temporary network that reshapes how the city is navigated.
More than an event, it is an invitation to lose the usual route
—and discover another way through the city.
